Uses

Jiao Gu Lan is on of the top 50 herbs used in TCM. It is used for high cholesterol, diabetes, liver disease, obesity, and many other conditions. It increases energy, is used to reduce the debilitating effects of stress. It can assit Heart health and increase circulation. Some studies have shown Jiao Gu Lan may help detox the liver, reduce fatty liver and also have cancer fighting effects. As one of the common names suggest it is used in China as an anti- aging herb.

Constituents

Gypenosides -Gypenosides are triterpene saponins that are unique to Gynostemma pentaphyllum. Flavonoids, Polysaccharides, Phytosterols, Amino Acids, Triterpenoids, Polysaccharide-Protein Complexes, Alkaloids. Also sterols and chlorophyl.
